Our Pilgrimages

At Little Coracles, we are drawn to the practice of wonder—not only for its own sake, but for the way it opens our hearts, deepens our spiritual lives, and re-enchants our faith. Wonder invites us to pay attention, to slow down, and to see the sacred in the world around us. Our pilgrimages are shaped by this vision. Whether you are walking the wild edges of Ireland, resting in the ancient stillness of Iona, or moving with intention along the peaceful paths of the Portuguese Camino, each journey offers space for reflection, transformation, and holy encounter.

Isle of Iona, Scotland

May 28 - June 7, 2026

There is a hush that falls over Iona. An ancient welcome. A deep remembering.

This small island off Scotland’s western coast is a thin place—a holy threshold between heaven and earth. It’s where our own pilgrimage ministry began, and we return every other year with open hearts and eager  steps.

This is a pilgrimage of renewal, spaciousness, and sacred rhythm. We’ll walk where St. Columba arrived 1500 years ago in his own little coracle. We’ll pray among Celtic ruins, and let sea and sky soften our souls. With time for silence and community, poetry and prayer, we’ll explore what it means to be pilgrims in both place and heart.

Our days will include guided reflections, group conversation, gentle walks, and open time for soul-tending. We'll stay at the Bishop’s House, a retreat center of The Church of Scotland, with views of the sea and easy access to the island’s spiritual landmarks.

Whether you’re new to pilgrimage or returning for the hundredth time, Iona has a way of meeting you exactly where you are.

County Donegal & Northern Ireland

June 21 - July 1, 2025

Come walk the breath-taking cliffs, forests, and beaches of County Donegal and Northern  Ireland, where land gives way to sea, spiritual tradition and raw nature intertwine, and  history brushes up against hope.

Following in the footsteps of saints like Columba and Brigid, we’ll explore not only the Wilde edges of Ireland’s coast and history but the wild edges within ourselves as well.

This journey invites you to behold the beauty of crumbling stones and crashing waves, to reflect on peace and reconciliation, and to open yourself to wonder—a spiritual practice that awakens awe, resilience, and grace.

Locations include Glencolmcille, Sliabh Liag, Glenveagh, Tory Island, Giant’s Causeway, Derry, Belfast, and more.

Come be undone and renewed in the best of ways—by beauty, story, and Spirit.

Portuguese Camino

Summer 2027

Join us on a sacred journey along the Portuguese Camino, one of the ancient pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. Traced by generations of seekers since the 12th century, this path winds through charming villages, coastal towns, eucalyptus forests, and quiet countryside, offering pilgrims the chance to slow down, reflect, and reconnect. Though less traveled than the French Way, the Portuguese Camino is deeply rooted in the tradition of spiritual transformation and hospitality, and is known for its serenity and beauty.

As we walk together, we’ll form a community of fellow travelers—supporting one another through shared meals, daily reflections, laughter, and silence. Along the way, we'll engage spiritual practices that open us to awe and wonder, drawing from the landscape, sacred sites, and the deep well of tradition that has shaped this path for centuries. This pilgrimage invites not only movement across miles but also an inward journey toward clarity, renewal, and communion with the Divine.

We are currently working on the logistical details of this adventure. So, stay tuned and let us know if you’d like to learn more!
